I'm Humbled

A number of things have happened recently that have left me quite humbled.
  1. Tonight Tim & Kathi Vetter, their kids and I picked up Euan & Sarah Crane and their four children from the airport. I was deeply moved seeing this precious family in the airport with all their worldly possessions, (packed in ten suitcases) having left the country of their birth to follow the call of a great God to a different nation. I'm humbled by their commitment to follow Jesus.
  2. Tim & Kathi are my heroes. They have graciously offered the Cranes to live in their home until they secure a rental home. Leading up to this time, I have never heard either of them complain about the inconvenience of having six additional people in their home. You can tell they are thrilled to do this and I am humbled by their commitment to serve Jesus.
  3. In the past few days I have had a conversation with Bill Stewart and an email from Joe Hainline, both asking me to give them more to do. I'm so very encouraged by not only these two men, but others who are not content to set in the background. I'm so very stirred by their zeal to get in on the action and humbled to be leading people such as them.
Our first Preview Service is just a little over a week away. With all the stuff that is going on right now, my main focus is to cling to Jesus with every fiber in my body. If I and the rest of the Wentzville Group are full of Jesus (the Spirit) then that's all that really matters because God promises that Jesus' fragrance will be evident to those around us (2 Cor 2:14-15). I can't think of anything better to happen on Easter than every guest experiencing the real, tangible presence of God in our midst. I can hardly wait, it's going to be a great day!
